How to join IMA?

This is one of the most important question that how to join IMA. There are several ways to join IMA and one of them is NDA [National Defence Academy]. 

What is NDA?

NDA is a way to join IMA, Indian Navy, Naval Academy, Indian Air force by giving the NDA and NA exams which is conducted all over India. It is conducted twice a year in the month of April-July and September-november you can apply for NDA examination by filling online application on upsc site.

What is the eligibility for NDA?

Candidates with age limit 15-19 and passed/appearing class 12 and graduate from recognized University are eligible for NDA.

What is the selection process?

When you will apply for NDA there will be allotment of examination centres within or outside your city and a specific examination date and time. There you have to reach on time and after giving the examination a merit list will be prepared on the bases of marks scored by the students. After the merit list there will be SSB interview for the student who have crossed the cutoff marks. Then the allotment of centre for SSB interview will be done and the students have to report on the preferred date and time.

What is SSB interview?

SSB interview is of 5 days which is conducted for students who have passed NDA and CDS for testing their abilities to serve the nation. In SSB interview there students have to perform well and show their abilities.

What after SSB?

After clearing SSB interview there will be PET[Physical Eligibility Test] for ensuring that the candidate is physically as well as mentally fit.

At last the candidate will be given call letters for IMA. At IMA students have to submit their documents for document verification. After documents are verified the training period of 3 years will be begin.

What will be the salary at IMA?

• At the time of training a monthly salary of 53000-56000 will be given.

• After the training the officers are given a monthly salary of 1,20,000-2,70,000 depending on their post.
